Rohan Dasgupta - A rising Sitar player

Rohan DasguptaInspired and initiated into the world of music by padmabhusan Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan (mentor of the great Jafferkhani baaj), Rohan belongs to the Indore Gharana of sitar playing. He is receiving taleem from Pandit Harashankar Bhattacharya (disciple of Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan Sahab) from his childhood.

Hailing from a musical background, it was easy for Rohan to learn and communicate music all through. His undying interest and quintessential love for music have helped him to grow and mature musically. He has been performing and spreading the sacred awareness of Indian Classical music from a very young age, and have got enormous compliments and supports from his listeners. He received many awards and felicitations from all around.

 

 

 

 

 

 Rohan Dasgupta

An open minded musician and keeps a humble personality with sheer interest to learn more and to work with musicians of different genre. Rohan has been working with several musicians world wide and performs regularly (both Classical and fusion) all over India. He has done music for a documentary film “Kolkata Street Food” along with reputed musician Lawrence Lush (England) and is also working as a music director for Indian classical dance project. He is currently working on his music album “East meets West” with renowned musician Hendrik Schappher (Germany)

Rohan has also been experimenting with new age fusion music with the internationally acclaimed world fusion band ‘Gharana’, and his creative implementations have always been praised and cherished by musicians and enthusiasts from all the corners of the globe.
