COLOR BRIDGE is a Kolkata based band which has been playing for over a year. They have been influenced by various musical genres but their compositions are mostly inspired by ‘Funk’ or music styles which resemble funk. The members of this band come from various musical backgrounds. The goal of Color Bridge is to produce better quality music and to rejuvenate love, peace and consciousness among an erudite audience.

Debabrata – Keyboards, piano and backing vocals
His primary inspiration in the field of music is his mother, from whom he had his vocal training. Apart from that he had been trained in Tabla by his father, in guitar by MithuDa and in keyboards by Subhojit Roy. Debabrata idolizes any honest and good human being. He started his carrier as a piano/keyboard player back in 2003. He completed his graduation in Indian Classical (Vocal) from the prestigious Rabindra Bharati University in 2008. He has always been encouraged by his parents to take up music as a profession. Debabrata hails from Coochbihar and he acknowledges the help of his friends and fellow musicians Sourav and Chandradip.
Chandradip - Drummer and backing vocals
His primary inspiration in the field of music is his uncle, the legendary flutist Pt. Gour Goswami. He started his musical journey by getting trained in the Tabla from pt. Samir Chatterjee. He then moved on to learn the drums from Mr. Bachchu Roy, and continued learning from Sanjay Gupta and Mr. Manojit Dutta. He also learnt playing the bamboo flute from Pt. Bishu Roy. Chandradip is influenced by the music of Dave Matthews, Scorpions, Billi Cobham, Buddy Rich, Dave Wackel, Vinni Colowita, RHCP, Dooby Brothers, Spirogyra, James Brown, Tower of power and many more.
Raj - Congero & Percussionist
Raj has been inspired initially by some of the present day Bangla rock bands and later by western musicians. He has been trained under Mr. Monojit Dutta in Drums, Conga, Bongo and other several percussion. Raj’s musical influences would be mainly Latin, and Latin Jazz musicians and composers. He would like to mention the names of Santana, Shaila E, B.B King, Spirogyra, Pancho Sanchez and Hervy Handcock.

Debtanu - Bass Guitarist and backing vocals
Debtanu’s primary inspiration for music would be his parents followed by his brother, friends (Chandradip) and well wishers. He initiated his musical journey by learning the Spanish guitar from Mr. Ranajit Mitra and then by moving on to learn bass guitar from Mr. Chandra Moulick. Manojit Dutta has helped Debtanu in getting acquainted with various finer aspects and concepts of music. His favourite musicians are Lee Ritneur, Jean Luck Ponty, Latin, Latin Jazz and funk musicians like Antonio Sanchez, James Brown, Paco de Lucia, Victor Wooten, John Patitucci, Stuart Ham, Stanley Clarke and bands like Spirogyra, Average white, Tribal tech, Scorpions and Deep Purple.
Saurav - Lead vocals
Saurav hails from a family belonging to musical fraternity, so it is needless to mention that his musical inspirations are his parents and his family. He is a self taught musician when it comes to his current style of singing. He has also received training in North Indian Classical and had started his music career by singing Bengali songs till he moved on to western music. Saurav likes the music of A.R Rahman, Shankar Mahadevan, Kenny G. and bands like Deep Purple, Dave Matthews to name a few.
Jajati - Lead Guitarist
The guitarist of Color Bridge was inspired by some of the Bangla rock bands and his brother Kaushik is also his continuous source of inspiration. Jajati has trained in Spanish Guitar under Mr. Bimal Banerjee and continued to learn under Mr.Nanda Das and Mr. Amit Dutta. Jajati’s favourite music comes from Santana, B.B King, Jimmy Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Paco De Lucia and bands like RHCP and the Scorpions.
Color Bridge meets up a couple of times every week to jam. They have performed in Kolkata and many places outside Kolkata. They have performed at the HHI, Kolkata and have shot recently for a session of Watch Me South Asia.
