Paula Valstein - A singer from Tel-Aviv

Paula ValsteinPaula Valstein has always been surrounded by music, especially in the city of Tel-Aviv where she grew up. At the age of four she started playing classical music on her grandma's piano and was hooked! By twenty three, she had played in countless bands, performed in Israel's famed OPERA HOUSE, played countless festivals
including The Red Sea International Jazz Festival and had been broadcast on National television to a huge audience.

Always intrigued with New York's historic music scene, Paula eventually decided to go and see for herself. Immersing herself in her music, she was soon playing the city's renowned venues like Joes Pub, The Rockwood Music Hall, The Canal room, The Living Room, The Cutting Room and the CMJ Festival and "Summerfest" in Milwaukee. In 2008 Paula began playing with some of her favorite artists such as COLIN HAY (Men At Work), JOAN OSBORNE, GRACE POTTER and New Orleans legend DR JOHN.

Between shows and summer festivals she also recorded her first EP with boutique production company Major Who Media. Her break out single "Bring It On" received rave reviews and radio play along the East Coast and online. Only four months in and 2009 is already becoming Paula's busiest year yet. With upcoming shows and festivals dotted throughout the country she has been announced a winner of the prestigious International Songwriter Competition for the performance of her song "Light". Although her summer will be hectic, Paula is already at work writing and recording for her first full length record. Paula says "All I want my music to do is to make people feel all the energy that I feel from music, and throw a little light into the darkness :)”.
