We present works of indie artistes and musicians from across the globe, and ask for your indulgence if we are biased towards our hometown of Kolkata, erstwhile Calcutta, the capital of the State of West Bengal, the cultural capital of India, and the political capital of bygone days of British India. It is said what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow, and you will find that young women and men of Calcutta, experimenting with the indie do-it-yourself style of music, from composition to lyrics to recording and performance, stand proud with their peers in Delhi, Mumbai, New York, London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and similar bastions of musical creativity.  The Pennydrops Band, commonly known as "PDB" is a pop punk band from Calcutta, trying to do something much different from the other bands. This three piece package is known for their totally "freaked out" and "extremely energetic stage presence". With their Energetic Punk music, bold attitude, and stupid onstage jokes, they've made a pretty decent mark in the Calcutta rock scene. They believe in onstage enjoyment rather than nervousness and tension to be tight and accurate. The band loves innovation and aims at creating a genre fusing punk and emo with their own stupidity, playing non conventional stuff.

 It was when the four students (Shinjan, Shreya, Subhayu, Saptarshi) from different batches and departments of Future Institute of Engineering and Management came together to form a music club that the idea of this band was first conceived. There was no fixed drummer. In some of the first stage shows the audience would be surprised at the sight of the drummer and the guitarist changing roles. Then Anindya joined as the drummer. We were still learning about live acoustics and on stage glitches that can upset all pre-determined plans. Soon Soumyadeep joined as the guitarist and Subhayu shifted to bass. With Shinjan and Shreya on vocals and Saptarshi on the keyboards the band was named Nevermind. Later on Shinjan had to leave for Mumbai and Arunava joined as a brilliant young vocalist.

 Stormbane was formed in March of 2006, proposing an innovation in the heavy rock music scene of Brazil. Launching a high quality work, the band has been showing on its songs, that music can be handled in new ways, meshing several metal styles, without losing focus and sound weight. As each band member has experienced their own musical inspiration, their contribution for such composition process has been unique. The group has released last November the EP “ Between The Lines” and is planning to launch its new album entitled “ Risking All” in 2009.

Vinnie Zummo is a
guitar player by trade and was with the Joe Jackson Band for
about 7 years. Also, he is a writer, producer, and creates
Hip Hop drum loops and sample cds for Zero G, and puts out
his own CDS, the latest one being "Swinging Guitar Sounds Of Young America".
Some have said the CD causes "Genre Whiplash". Vinnie's current thing is
adding "icing" to people's songs. Little lo fi touches and odd little touches to make a track
come alive. Of course he loves adding a guitar solo as well if the song seems to want it.
Vinnie LOVES all kinds of music and he is a vampire for playing diffferent styles of it on a
daily basis. He craves the variety. Vinnie is currently a top call

Pseudonym is a band from Kolkata, India, with an outright inclination towards progressive/alternative music, with a special focus on instrumentals. Pseudonym was formed in September 2006 by five music enthusiasts: Damayanti Chakravarty (vocals), Sompratim Das (vocals, guitars), Devapriya Sinha (vocals, guitars), Roheet Mukherjee (bass) and Rajan Bhaumik (drums). This band is aiming to set a different note in the world of contemporary music with a totally fresh perspective, and is ready to face the challenges that will inevitably come its way. The name was unanimously agreed upon as the band relates to the philosophy of creating new dimensions in music with some bigger truths hidden inside. Thus the name Pseudonym does gel flamboyantly with the band itself.
