Join us in saluting the Independent Music (often abbreviated to "indie") movement which strives to break away from profit and commercial oriented appeal desired by big record companies, towards the free human spirit that unleashes creativity.

We present works of indie artistes and musicians from across the globe, and ask for your indulgence if we are biased towards our hometown of Kolkata, erstwhile Calcutta, the capital of the State of West Bengal, the cultural capital of India, and the political capital of bygone days of British India. It is said what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow, and you will find that young women and men of Calcutta, experimenting with the indie do-it-yourself style of music, from composition to lyrics to recording and performance, stand proud with their peers in Delhi, Mumbai, New York, London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and similar bastions of musical creativity.

Somewhere down your journey through these pages, you will find the excitement and be heartened in remembrance of the last time you were in a pub off Park Street, Calcutta when a yet unknown live band got you hooked on to beautiful guitar riffs capturing the best of Indian Classical and Western harmonics somehow touching your heart.
